Description

Arley Dynamics takes our super snappy AS3310 based ADSR design, marries it to our ARP influenced VCA, and throws in a bunch of extras. The result is a super compact combo to control the dynamics of your system.

The ADSR side of Arley Dynamics is based around the famous AS3310 Curtis clone chip, a classic ADSR which pays homage to the SCI Pro One of the past. It has a couple of handy additions to it’s functionality:

  • As well as Normal output, there’s an Aux output, which can be selected via a jumper on the rear of the module to give out either normal or inverted envelopes
  • The Level CV input can be used to externally control the output level of the ADSR for full dynamic control. Uses include velocity sensitivity, or automated level controls.

The VCA side of Arley Dynamics is OTA based and pays homage to ARP VCAs of the past. Full of warm analogue goodness, it adds some extra functionality:

  • selectable CV source, either ADSR or Gate
  • Drone feature – handy for when you need a constant output for tuning up for example

The Normal output of the ADSR section is normalised to the CV input of the VCA section, you can override this by patching an external signal into the VCA’s CV input. So the ASDR and VCA sections are both fully modular and can be used fully independently within your system.
