High Towers

Programmable/addressable 4 channel voltage controlled clock divider.

Description

17/06/22: We are now onto TOOL v2.0 for  High Towers (and Little Melody). Tool v2.0 performs integers as well as multipliers using DIVISION selection knobs:

  • top of the dial is /1
  • clockwise from the top are /2, /4, /8, /16, /32, /64, /128
  • anticlockwise from the top are /3, /5, /6, /7, /9, /10, /11

This upgrade is partly due to neccesity, as the original 16F88 PICs on which TOOL v1.0 was based are now EOL, so we ported to a more current PIC and added some extra functionality. All new High Towers will ship with TOOL v2.0.

High Towers is our brand new super flexible clocking module. At it’s heart it is based on the principles of clock division of an incoming clock signal. High Towers has 4 assignable outputs, each of which can be assigned a clock division in a number of different ways:

– manually assigned using a potentiometer

– assigned by external CV (in which case the associated potentiometer becomes a CV attenuator)

– assigned by one of High Towers’ internal presets

High Towers is able to receive external clock and reset pulses. High Towers internally divides the incoming clock pulses by 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 and 128. Each of High Towers 4 assignable outputs can stream any of these divisions.

High Towers comes pre-programmed with 8 preset division models. The division models set each output to stream a particular division. The division that any given output is streaming can be over-ridden manually or by external CV.

High Towers comes pre-programmed with 8 different direction models. The direction models select whether High Towers counts up, down, up/down, or various combinations of up and down.
